 Presentation Overview

With global economic challenges and vehicle fluctuation and demand, it is more important than ever to focus attention on  SC supply chain management issues, e.g. customer requirements, capacity constraints, contingency planning, sub-tier capability, resource allocation, and employee skills.  Leveraging technology and Materials Management Operations Guideline/Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE) to proactively manage SC operations in today’s volatile environment, our speakers present an  introduction of the MMOG/LE process, its use in enterprise applications, and a successful Case Study by a supplier.

MMOG/LE, a global evaluation tool developed through the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), has been adopted by Chrysler, Ford, GM, and other OEM’s throughout their global supply chain tiers.  This tool outlines the SC components and provides a comprehensive assessment of an organization’s capability against industry best practices, and gap analysis allowing the organization to create an action plan for addressing deficiencies in its SC processes. Since MMOG/LE focuses on supply chain management, there is growing interest in its use not only by the automotive industry, but in hospitals, construction, aerospace, chemistry, electronics, industrial and retail.

 About our speakers

Marilyn Smith, General Motors Global Supply Chain, represents GM as an Executive Loan at AIAG.  She is project lead for MMOG/LE implementation at GM and is a member of the AIAG MMOG/LE work group.  Previously, she has been the Material Director at several GM assembly and powertrain plants.

Terry Onica is the Automotive Director at QAD, a provider of enterprise applications.  She is leading the AIAG MMOG/LE work group and the development of introductory and advanced MMOG/LE classroom and on-line training.

Dan Miller is the CEO of Marshall Electric Corporation, a supplier of ignition coils for automotive, industrial, motorcycle and recreational applications.  Dan’s company has successfully implemented MMOG/LE and enterprise applications, streamlining operations between Marshall’s warehouse in Indiana and the manufacturing site in China.
